Robby Bright
There are so many words that have been used to
describe the various facets of Pop Instrumentalist Robby Bright’s talent. Since
the age of 11 he’s been blowing people away with the smooth seductive sounds of
his Saxophone and making people move with his tight grooving productions.
In 1999 his debut independent release "Risin' 2 the Top" was
one of the most popular Jazz albums on the famed Internet Music destination
MP3.COM. It was one of the most downloaded Independent Jazz albums on the net
that year. Perhaps the most amazing secret about the album that few know is that
the entire album was completely produced by Robby in his 2-bedroom apartment in
Cincinnati, OH after an incredible brush with Death. The success of this album
segued quite naturally into his follow up release in 2001 “Sometimes You Just
Know,” which made Robby’s mark in the traditional radio realm. The album earned
the “Most Added” designation 3 weeks in a row and then moved into the Smooth
Jazz Top 40 for the next 18 weeks. This radio success afforded Robby some
amazing opportunities to perform with some of his musical idols. A few of which
included legendary
saxophonists Gerald Albright and Boney James, vocal legends Oleta Adams and
Jeffrey Osborne, and 80’s Pop sensation Rick James.
Robby has also done session work for a number of
different acts in various genres from Adult Contemporary, Funk, R&B, and
even Hip Hop. He even lent his sultry sounds to State Farm Insurance’s National
advertising campaign produced by Spike Lee for Spike/DDB.
